NO GOD-MODING. This is when you control another persons character. This is simple. If you God-Mode, you may very well simply just lose.
The initiating (person who chooses to start the fight) character makes a decent post attacking a character. I won't give a minimum of how long the post has to be, but at least make it a good post and not something that will take me just five or ten minutes to read (bare in mind I can read pretty fast and still comprehend it ).
To attack another character they have to be from the same time period....That's a given, plain and simple. They also have to be on the same continent (Laurasia or Gondwana). Furthermore, they also have to be in the same habitat. So if your from the Cretaceous on Gondwana in the desert, you can't attack someone from the Cretaceous on Gondwana in the Mangroves...Sorry folks.
The person being attacked defends pretty much in the same way the attacker attacked them, by post. You can either do this by countering each part of their post, or exploiting flaws in their post. Again, no criteria as to how long it has to be, but please make it a good read.
The defending person can also try running away. The chances of this aren't as good at success as fighting it off and you have to role-play it REALLY good if you want this to be successful. Chances are you may not be good enough and your attempts of running to freedom will result in you running onto the dinner plate.
The defending person has 72 hours (three days for those that don't know) in which to respond to an attack, unless the person being attacked has messaged either me or another moderator with a reason as to why they haven't been on to post. If, after the three days are up and the defending character hasn't made an attempt to defend he/she is declared dead.
Certain herbivores can only attack other herbivores and only if they're of the same species (like pachychpalosaurs and ceratopsians) because those species would've competed with each other for mating rights and territories much like deer do today, and also, for the sake of imagination (and fun as well) I will allow ankylosaurs, hadrosaurs and sauropods the right to go head to head against each other as well. But herbivores can't attack preditors. They have no reason to do so.
Predators can not only attack herbivores, but also other predators as well. This would be realistic in a natural sense as well to assert dominence, over food compitition, territory, and even predators have mating querrels too.
Also, any area that has the title "general role-playing" , or anything along this lines, just assume you can have character combat there. It was 3 AM and I was tired when I was modifying the site and my sis can get real bitchy when comes to "her compter time" so yeah sorry about the laxing in detail.
That about wraps it up, all except for NO GOD-MODING
