Due to the river having cut through the under laying rock thousands of years ago, the river has trickled down to a small stream. The vegetation is a bit more spread out here, making it easier for bigger animals to move around, thus making it more dangerous for smaller animals.
There are fish in the river, but not as many as up-river. Due to meandering of the river in centeries past, there are many impressive sized oxebow lakes across this part of the landscape that have trapped populations of fish in them.
Due to this part of the area being downhill from the rest, flashfloods around here are severe, and harder to avoid.
(OOC: The flashfloods are few and far between. I'm not one to bring up random events. I hate them interferring with role-play, but they will show up, just not that often.)
