Far to the north-west of the oasis is a dried up lake bed. For miles around the landscape seems featureless. The sediment is loose and has a dull brownish color. Small plants cover the area here and there.
Small reptiles scurry about the landscape basking in the sun, catching the insects flying about.
Bones lay all over the landscape, reminders of the harshness of the area. Some are well bleached, some seem more recent. This area could be a good area to scavenge.
A herbivore has it made here, with all the plant material growing on the ground, and preditor can scavenge off of a recently perished animal or try it's luck at making a fresh kill.
